The last weekend of August is packed with fun activities in Ottawa!

Here is a list of activities happening in and around Ottawa this weekend, from August 25-27, 2017.

  • There is an abundance of festivals this weekend, including the Capital Fair (August 18-27), House of PainT Festival (August 24-27), the Hopped and Confused Beer, Music & Food Festival (August 25), the Palestinian Festival Ottawa (August 25-27), Baconpalooza (August 25-27), the Upper Gatineau Whitewater Festival(August 25-27), the Ottawa Lumière Festival (August 26), the North Lanark Highland Games (August 26), Westboro FUSE (August 26-27), and the Outaouais Gourmet Festival (August 27). Admission is FREE! to some festivals.
  • The best golfers of the LPGA Tour compete in Ottawa at the 2017 Canadian Pacific Women’s Open at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club from Monday, August 21 to Sunday, August 27!
  • Show your pride! Ottawa celebrates Ottawa’s LGBTTQ+ communities from Monday, August 21 through to Sunday, August 27 with Capital Pride. The festival includes a week of activities, wrapping up with the Pride Parade on Sunday, August 27. Expect road closures down Bank Street and on parts of Kent, Gladstone, and Laurier for the parade. Admission is FREE!
  • Head to Lansdowne to celebrate Ukrainian culture on Thursday, August 24 and Indonesian culture from Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27 as part of the Ottawa 2017 event Ottawa Welcomes the World. FREE!
  • Chow down on corn at the ByWard Market Corn Roast on Saturday, August 26 for cobs of corn and a laid-back afternoon of music! While in the area, visit Inspiration Village on its second-last weekend, as it wraps up on Labour Day, Monday, September 4.
  • Visit Major’s Hill Park on Saturday, August 26 for the Great Trail Cross-Canada Connection Celebration! The path formerly known as the Trans Canada Trail finally completely connects across Canada – celebrate with musical performances, food trucks, and lots more! FREE!
  • At Rideau Hall on Saturday, August 26 enjoy an outdoor screening of Bon Cop, Bad Cop 2 at Rideau Hall Movie NightsFREE!
  • Cirque du Soleil: VOLTA wraps up at the Zibi site this weekend, with its final performance on Sunday, August 27.
  • Although sold out, it will be hard to miss the Ottawa 2017 event Canada’s Table on Sunday, August 27! The best chefs from across Canada will gather in Ottawa to cook for 1,000 guests seated at a 305-metre long table in front of Parliament Hill on Wellington Street. Road closures begin at 10:00pm on Saturday, August 26 and continue through to the very early hours of Monday, August 28, including Wellington Street from Bank to Elgin, and Metcalfe and O’Connor Streets from Wellington to Queen. Although sold out, check out the Canada’s Table Culinary Series or Agri 150 Series for more delicious events.
